R.I.P. MICHAEL JACKSON

I can't believe this. I am too sad. Michael Jackson is dead at the age of 50.

Oyin Handmade - the results

Can I just say that I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS LINE SO FAR!!! No for real, IN LOVE. So ok, when I got the package I was so excited that I just had to come home and do something to my hair (even though it was already done). I co washed first with my VO5 Herbal Escapes Clarifying Condish and then I used the Oyin Hemp Conditioner as my leave in. It made my hair sooo soft. I was so easy to comb through. After that, I put in some big twists overnight to let it dry. The next day, I used the Whipped Pudding and the Shine and Define together to do some medium sized twists. Can you say THE BOMB. I know I'm wrong because I totally forgot to take pics, but I'm going to re twist this weekend and I promise that the pictures are to come.

First off, the products smell SO GOOD. You just want to inhale them before you put them in your hair. You only need a dab of S&D and WP for each twist. When I say a dab, I really mean a dab. You don't have to use much of this product at all. It totally made my hair soft and pliable. It was just too good for words.

Oh the Greg Juice. I used it and I like the results, but the scent is more suited for my son. He's been using it and loving it, so when I reorder, I'm going to try the Juices and Berries. I've heard great things about that.

I will definitely buy more products to try from this line.

The Nappy Hair Mafia

Have you encountered a nappy mafia member? I have not encountered one personally, but I have definitely seen them in action and they are BRUTAL! Now I love my natural hair, and I avoid putting heat in it. I haven't blow dried my hair in about a year or so and I definitely don't do hot combs or things of that nature. Would I be committing some kind of crime if I wanted to? I mean it is MY HAIR! Kindly giving advice and letting me know in a respectful way that I may be causing myself heat damage is totally acceptable, but beating me up for it is not.

Is a woman that occasionally blow dries, flat irons, or presses their hair on occasion any less natural than the woman that swears by no heat? Maybe some women like the versatility of their natural hair. Is the woman that likes to wear wigs sometimes any less natural than the woman that never wears them? Maybe this woman likes to wear wigs for a change of pace (I know I do!)

I've heard of women on YouTube getting hate emails because they have done tutorials on how to make a kinky hair wig. I mean WTF...for real? I mean....for really real? What gives you the right to send HATE MAIL to someone showing people OPTIONS?? Why are you sending crazy ass emails to folks that do tutorials on blow drying or flat ironing their non chemical treated hair. I'm quite sure that these women got the memo that they may be causing themselves heat damage, so just stop the madness already.

Natural women, can we stop being so damned disrespectful to other naturals? Would it kill you to state your opinion without putting someone else down?

My Saturday and Sunday looks

Bentonite Clay for the face

Ok, so I'm sitting here with bentonite clay mixed with ACV on my face. All I can say is wooooooow!!! This stuff has my eyes watering a bit. I know it's the ACV making this happen. I keep stopping to fan my eyes a bit. It's not as bad as when I first applied it. I'll have to see how I like it before I decide if I want to go through the discomfort of running eyes again.

I feel it tightening on my face as I type this and the eye irritation is almost gone. I mad my son jump when he came out of his room just now LOL!

Ok, now I feel my face pulsating. It feels like a beating heart. This is truly a weird experience so far. Oh and I just discovered that it hurts to talk while this stuff is on your face.

So I just finished rinsing my face and I must say that I will definitely go the eye watering again. My face feels FANTASTIC!! It feels so smooth and C.L.E.A.N. I will most def. do this at least once a week.

Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner

Ok, so I heard many great things about these products and felt that I just had to try them. I tried the Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner Friday night and wasn't all that impressed. I pre conditioned my hair with Suave and detangled the week old twist out that I had in my hair and jumped in the shower to try my new purchase.

The shampoo was ok. It lathered up really nice and had a pleasant smell to it. I felt my hair getting a crunchy (not sure if that's the right word) feel to it. It sort of felt as if my hair was drawing into itself. My hair did feel clean once I rinsed it out, so that was a good thing.

So I jump out of the shower and blot my hair with a towel so that I could apply the conditioner. I left it on for about 15 minutes or so, making sure to take out any additional tangles that happened during my wash, and rinsed my hair out in the sink.

All that I could say was meh..it was ok. I don't think I'll be purchasing this product again. The next time I will just co-wash with the conditioner and see how I like that.

This product gets a C from me.
